How To Get Over Cold Calling Fear: 2

Saturday, January 2nd, 2010

CBR001292One of the very first things that you want to make sure that you do when you are trying to overcome your fear of cold calling is taking stock of yourself and your skills.  You want to list all of the things that you can do for the person that you are calling, list all of the qualities that make up you, as a person and make you the person the prospect should work with.

Next, you want to make sure that you list all of the benefits of working with you.  You always want to make sure that you keep these lists right by the phone so that way you can tell any prospects them without hesitating at all.

Finally, you want to make sure that you take the first step and pick up the phone – it is the hardest step but once you pick up the phone, you will feel better.

The What, Where, and How of Finding Real Estate Agents: 2

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

agent 4Still, where do you start finding successful real estate agents? Actually, one of the best sources you will be able to find is your friends, your family members, your colleagues, your acquaintances: the people you already know, in other words.

Find people who have worked with real estate agents in the area. They will be able to give you a solid recommendation, whether good or bad. Remember, you want an agent who is highly professional, who knows who to be aggressive, who has the killer instincts.

Checking out real estate agencies with good funding can be helpful as well, because they tend to have high standards for the agents who work there.

An agency with published standards is even better, because then you can find out what you are getting into well ahead of time.

Saturday, August 1st, 2009

real-estate-marketing-northwest-mont-largeNow that we have talked about the internet leads, it is now time for us to touch base on using SEO to promote your website.  Now, many people simply have no idea what SEO is and therefore do not know how to use it.  SEO all has to do with search engines like google.  You want to make sure that your website has SEO content in it so it will get picked up by google so you can increase the number of visitors that have seen your website.

What is the very first thing that you do when you go onto google?  You type in a keyword for whatever you are looking for.  That is exactly what SEO is – it is all based around keywords and you truly do need to have the right keywords in your website in order for your google ranking to get up there.  One of the most important things about having a website is making sure that it is promoted correctly and that people can find it and that is what SEO can do for you.

Using SEO is a fantastic way to ensure that your visitors can find your website and that you are gaining a lot of attention via the internet search engines!

Internet Leads — Are They Worth It?

Friday, July 31st, 2009

internet-searchUsing the internet is something that I personally love in order to create new prospects.  I love the blogs that I have set up and the website that I have created – did you know that using the internet to create leads for your real estate business is a great way to really and truly get your name out there?

Internet leads – while some associates do not think they are worth it, really are.  Personally, I have had internet leads turn out to be truly huge opportunities and all they wanted to do was use the internet to execute it because it is faster.

The internet is a great resource to collect information too – there are a ton of different forums that you can use and take advantage of so you can really be ahead of the real estate game.

How You Can Drive More Business In These Tough Times! Part 2

How You Can Drive More Business In These Tough Times! Now that we have talked about networking events, there are a few more things that you should be doing when it comes to driving more business in the real estate game.  One of the first things is going to be sending out a electronic newsletter.  If you have used the excuse ‘it takes up too much time’ in the past, that is no longer an excuse that you should be using.  Electronic newsletters do work and they definitely do get your name out there and that is the entire point after all.

Another thing that you want to do is ask for referrals.  While the market might not be there just yet, it never, ever hurts to ask someone for a referral, after all – if your clients liked your business, their friends and family would like your business as well.  You always need to be thinking about the future whenever you are in the real estate business and a lot of agents have lost sight of that.

Finally, you need to make sure that you are still working all of those hours you were before and you are getting to the office early enough – the business is not there if you do not promote and drive it to be there.  Remember that!

How You Can Drive More Business In These Tough Times!

Saturday, July 11th, 2009

msIf you are in the realtor business, you know that business is bad right now.  Heck, many people think there is really no way to drive business in these tough times.  While there are only so many times that you can market yourself, there are many different things that I bet you have no tried due to past failure.  For example, if you have tried going out to networking events in the past but they have not ever worked – why not try it again and see if it works this time?

Networking yourself is a fantastic way to make all sorts of connections all over the world, not just in your own backyard.  The realtor business is all about appearance and how you present yourself and if you are constantly not showing up to events that you, specifically are invited to, you are not going to be invited any longer.

Think about that when you are trying to drive business – more ways that you can capture some business in the next blog!

Do You Have What It Takes To Be Successful?

Sunday, July 5th, 2009

successful-realtor-2If there is one thing that I have noticed this year, it is the number of real estate agents that are looking for the easy way to succeed.  Most of the time, if you really listen to exactly what the real estate agent is looking for, they are looking for the easy way out, yet they want to be successful.  If you find yourself in this boat, just know that you can not be successful – really successful by taking the easy way out.

Personally, I know that you work your way from the bottom up and gain your cliental base before you do anything and to be honest, in order to do that it is going to take a lot of hard work.

Hard work is something that many people do not think that real estate agents are about.  However, it does take a special kind of person to really and truly sell a house and become that ‘people’ person that most people hate.  You just have to remember to work hard and you will be successful, it is not easy though!

Can A SmartPhone Really Help Your Business?

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

Technology in this day and age is remarkable – whether you are dealing with a computer or you are dealing with a phone.  Smartphone’s these days are all the rave and you, as a realtor can really benefit from having a Smartphone.  Not only can you bring your business with you wherever you are, but the fact that you can get instant communication with your clients is a great resource.

One of the most important things in the real estate business is responding quickly and if you are out of the office – sometimes you can lose out on a sale simply because you did not respond fast enough.  Responding quickly is a must and who wants to lose out on a sale simply because they are away from the office?

That is no longer the case!  Smartphone’s have made it possible for you to check your e-mail, answer the phone, log onto websites and just all around stay completely connected to the office while you are out of it on a sale or at an open house!

Get More Real Estate Business Without Being Overly Aggressive

Friday, June 26th, 2009

real-estate-agents-cardsOne thing that people absolutely hate about real estate agents is the fact that they are usually overly aggressive.  Most realtors believe that if they drive a hard bargain and are very aggressive with their clients they are going to keep them for a while and they are going to be called back and recommended.  That is a very big mistake on the realtor’s part as many people do not like realtors to be pushy or too aggressive to win the deal.

As you can see from this board of business cards that there are thousands of different real estate agents out there and while you want to be the one to win that listing, you need to make sure that you are not too pushy.  For example, do not call the prospect every other day or send too many e-mails when it is clear that they are not going to return any contact from you.  We all know that the early bird usually gets the worm, the same phrase works here too.

Just keeps these tips and tricks in mind and make sure that you do not do that – that way, you will win the business fairly!
